Simply pAwesome is committed to helping dogs live healthy, happy lives so we use only the most wholesome ingredients, like organic flours and organic or all natural high-quality fruits, veggies and meats. One look at our ingredients and you'll see the Simply pAwesome difference.
The treats with the pink paw print are especially ideal for dogs with food allergies. These have NO wheat, corn, soy, rice, milk, eggs, meat, fish, nuts, peanut butter, artificial preservatives or animal by-products. So what is in them?
In our kitchens organic Buckwheat provides the foundation for most of our recipes. Then fresh, organic ingredients such as apples, carrots, bananas, parsley, green beans, sweet potatoes, ginger and flax seed are combined providing a powerful antioxidant punch. The final baked snack provides healthy nutrients that can help support key body functions including GI and immune systems. Each treat has a different combination of these ingredients so you can select the ones that best fit your pet’s needs.
Buckwheat: a Gluten-Free Alternative
Despite having the word “wheat” in its name, buckwheat bears no relation to wheat. In fact, it's a gluten-free flowering plant closely related to rhubarb. When ground, a dark, nutty-flavored flour is made, which is often used to make noodles, pancakes and breakfast cereals.
In addition to being gluten-free, buckwheat is a complex carbohydrate, and contains all 8 essential amino acids in higher concentrations than those found in soy. Buckwheat's high concentration of dietary fiber and key nutrients like vitamin B6, niacin, thiamine, manganese, magnesium and phosphorus ensure your dog is enjoying a healthy snack.
Health Benefits of Antioxidants
The fruits, vegetables and cereal grains we use in our treats contain a variety of naturally occurring antioxidants. Antioxidants are central to healthy immune and digestive function. When we suffer from a cold, allergic reaction or emotional stress, our bodies produce an excessive amount of free radicals. These free radicals can damage cells needed for healthy immune and digestive function. Antioxidants can help eliminate these potentially harmful free radicals.
Researchers have also linked free radicals to a variety of diseases in humans, including cancer, heart disease and some neurological disorders. Canines may also be negatively affected by free radicals in the same manner.
